👑QMFS March Recap – From the Team Principal👑
March has been a month of relentless progress for Queen Mary Formula Student!
🔧Our IC team has been busy with procurement and preparations for in-house manufacturing of suspension and drivetrain components, ensuring everything is ready for when the chassis returns from welding. Meanwhile, our composites team has officially kicked off floor panel production for the car.
🔋On the EV team, this side has been deep in design and simulation work, steadily preparing for integrating everything into a full-body CAD model.
📝Behind the scenes, our operations team has been hard at work on Finance and Business event submissions, while marketing and social media continue to showcase our sponsors and supporters.
With just under four months until competition, it’s full steam ahead at QMFS - stay tuned for more exciting updates! 🔥
👋Get to Know Allegra from the Aerodynamics Team!👋

In this month's spotlight, we’re catching up with a talented senior team member from the Aerodynamics Department. Here’s a quick look at their role and what makes them tick!
💻What’s Your Role in QMFS?As part of the Aerodynamics team, I’m currently working on a front wing design project using SolidWorks, and I’ll be running CFD to make improvements.
🏖Life Outside QMFSWhen I’m not working on the car, I enjoy crocheting, spending time with friends, and eating pasta. Oh, and I definitely spend too much time trimming my coursework to fit the page limit!
🏎How Did You Get Involved with QMFS?I joined QMFS as an associate member to expand my knowledge of Formula 1. After seeing how friendly and passionate the team is, I applied to the senior team and decided to stick around.
🎭Unexpected Skill You’ve Picked UpI’ve gotten really quick at restarting CFD and CAD — it’s become a bit of an art!
❓Life After QMFSBeing part of QMFS has helped me learn on the job, getting hands-on experience with all aspects of building a successful vehicle. It’s also taught me a lot about collaboration and teamwork.
❗QMFS in Three WordsENERGETIC, RESILIENT, and ENCOURAGING.
🥪According to Allegra, if the Engineering Team were a Sandwich, it would be…..A salty peanut butter and Nutella — shouldn’t work, but somehow it does!
